Referrals @ Girling & Fraser

In addition to first opinion services the practice also offers a referral service to clients of other practices in dermatology/ear disease, exotics, soft tissue surgery and keyhole surgery.

Many clients do not realise that it is possible to ask for a referral. If you pet has a complicated or long term condition, then it may be helpful to seek help from a vet who has specialised in a relevant subject area. General practitioner vets are obliged by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to offer a referral where a case is unusual or not progressing as it should.

To refer a case your vet needs to contact us. If you would like a referral all you need to do is let your vet know. They will then get in touch with us to discuss the history. Once we have spoken to your vet then an appointment time can be given.

Referral appointments are generally between half an hour and one hour, plus clinical work up time. .

If you are an owner or a vet with a case which you would like to refer please get in touch for more information on 01738 635633.
